Seaweed Bath Balls and Fresh Dulse for sale
012.JPG

DULSE £2.00 PER BAG (approx 60gm)

Dulse is a good source of minerals and vitamins compared with other vegetables and it contains all trace elements needed for humans with a high protein content.

It is commonly found from May to September and is collected by hand when the tide is out.  When collected, it is laid out to dry naturally.

Dulse is now shipped around the world. In Northern Ireland it is particularly popular along the Antrim Causeway Coast .

Dulse can be found in some dietary supplements .It is a good source of dietary requirements, a handful will provide more than:

·        100% of the daily amount of vitamin B6

·        66% vitamin B12, a day's supply of iron and fluride,

·        it is relatively low in sodium (sea salt can washed off if desired)

·        high in potassium.

Fresh Dulse can be eaten directly off the rocks before sun-drying. Sun-dried Dulse is eaten as is or is ground to flakes or a powder.

In Iceland the tradition is to eat it with butter.

It can also be pan fried quickly into chips, baked in the oven covered with cheese, with salsa, or simply cooked in the oven briefly.

It can be used in soups, sandwiches and salads, or added to mashed potato, along with onions and turned into potato croquettes .

Some eat it; Some don't; Everyone should! Here's why..............

SEAWEED BATH BALLS £2.00 EACH

BENEFITS OF A SEAWEED BATH.

This age-old Irish pampering ritual incorporates fresh seaweed, added to bathwater.

Harvested daily on the Antrim coast, Northern Ireland.

Dried naturally.

Seaweed baths are nature’s perfect body balancer, and they’re an excellent way to take in iodine therapy. Seaweeds purify and balance the ocean; they can do the same for your body.  Rejuvenating effects occur when toxics are released from your tissues. A hot seaweed bath is like a wet steam sauna only better because the sea greens balance body chemistry instead of dehydrating it.

Seaweed releases excess body fluids from congested cells and dissolves fatty wastes through the skin replacing them with depleted minerals particularly potassium and iodine.  Vitamin K in seaweeds aids adrenal regulation meaning a seaweed bath can help maintain hormone balance for a more youthful body.

How to take a seaweed bath
Run very hot water over the seaweed in the bath, filling it to the point that you will be covered once in the bath.

The seaweed will expand and the water will turn a rich brown as the seaweed releases the minerals.

Forty-five minutes is usually long enough to balance the acid/alkaline system, encourage liver activity and fat metabolism. Also, your skin tone, skin colour, and circulatory strength are almost immediately noticeable from the iodine and potassium absorption.

Benefits of seaweed help the following

  • it re-hydrates your skin and relieve conditions like
  • psoriasis, acne, eczema
  • back and muscular pain;
  • ease rheumatism,
  • arthritis and assist circulation
  • helps your skin elasticity, and appearance of your skin tone.
  • Cellulite reduction!
